The RBB 8x8 Matrix is the ultimate way to introducing powerful colour into almost any projects. Just like it's little brother the bicolour matrix you can continually add additional matrices to build a really monumental display.
What we like about the full colour matrix is it's sheer brightness, even on a simple 9v battery you can drive the display for well over 12 hours at full power with continually vivid results. My personal tests have found a simple AtMega168 and matrix can last up to 30 hours on a set of AA batteries (3-6 x 2700mAh) - that's hugely impressive and real reinforcement of the efficiency of these displays.
How do I set-up the display?
If you are a beginner I would highly advise our bicolour matrix as controlling the RGB matrix can be a challenge for newcomers; However, for those of you who are feeling brave the reward of powering up this matrix is fantastic. I would advise a read of the follow Arduino.cc article
Is it compatible with the Rainbowduino?
