We've found the Sure 24x16 to be an excellent display. Its low cost coupled with a high quality finish opens up great new avenues for your project. Its HT1632 controller is extremely easy to use with popular MCUs like the Arduino (see below for code) which makes it a great display to get started with.

The 24x16 LCD display is driven by a simple to use controller. Very rarely seen on similar units you can cascade up to four panels which can all be driven from the same MCU.

Specification

  • Size: 4" by 2.5" display area.
  • 2416 dot matrix on each board.
  • Bright Red or Green display
  • Operating voltage and current: 5V, 350mA (Max), 200mA(Avg)
  • 16-level PWM brightness control.
  • Serial MCU interface----CS, RD*(optional), WR, DATA.
  • Cascading function for extended applications (up to 4 boards possible).
  • Power can be supplied and command data can be transmitted by IDC sockets from microcontrollers.
  • Auxiliary power supply terminal blocks may be needed when connected to next LED matrix board.
